God and World War One
During World War 1, God worked miracle to save the Allies from destruction by the Germans. It was 4 o'clock on the afternoon of April 22, 1915, when the Germans first turned loose their poisonous gas. The troops were taken by surprise and were not protect by a gas mask. Men fell dead, their bodies bloated and they were stacked like firewood on the battlefield.
At that point all Germany had to do was to march to the English Channel, take it, and the world would be hers, Why didn't she do it?
She tried. The German Meteorologists set the hour when the next gas would be released. They carefully determined the course of the prevailing winds to make sure their own troops would not breathe the gas.
Dr Schmaus, the head of their meteorological department, told their head general that the winds would remain the same for the next thirty six hours, and the gas would carried far out over the Allied lines
So the gas was turned loose, but all of sudden the wind turned and whipped the gas back over the German army. The gasping, strangling Germans taken by surprise, were cut down.
Dr Schmus said in 40 years of the Meteorological records the wind had never acted so strangely before. Doubly peculiar is the fact the winds changes only in a small area of Ypres (were the gas was discharged.
The bible spind. (Psa 18:10) God stopped Jonah with the wind. God used the wind to dry up the waters of the flood!eaks of God as the one who has control of winds. "He did fly upon the wings of the w.
An Oath Of The Military (May 23, 2016)
Memorial Day- For most of us it is a three-day weekend, filled with bar-b-que's and picnics...A time to get get away from the normal humdrum of the week. For other's it's the beginning of summer, a time to look forwards to the long lazy days and time to plan your summer get-a-ways
On May 5, 1868, and order issued by General John Logan established a day of remembrance for those soldiers who died during the Civil War. May 30 1868, was the day designated for this observance and flowers were place on the graves of the fallen soldiers of both Union and Confederate Armies, New York was the first state to officially recognize this observance in 1873 and in 1971 with the passage of the National Holiday Act; Memorial Day was designated as the last Monday of May.
Now for many of us, the Civil War, the Spanish-America War, WWl,WWll, and the Korea war are ancient history. The Vietnam War a fading memory, But with the Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and the Afghanistan war we the American people have once been thrust into a position of remembering those who are fighting and dying to dying today.
I, like a my Uncles and brothers, I am a veteran. I am proud of serving in the Armed Forces, I served from 1952 to 1972. I was in Korea for 13 months and 24 months in Southeast Asia (Nam) and i know what Memorial Day is all about.
I have friends who are currently serving one friend is serving in Iraq, another in Afghanistan and who are supporting and defending his fellow soldiers. I know what memorial Day is all about. Memorial Day for all soldiers is embodied in the words of the oath that you first take when you enlist into the service of this nation,
I, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (0R AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUTH FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; AND THAT I WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED OVER ME, ACCORDING TO REGULATIONS AND THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. SO HELP ME GOD.
This oath taken by each and every soldiers exemplifies the reason why
soldiers do what they do each and everyday. Soldiers are defenders of the same principles that made this country great. They stand as Patriots to defend and protect the ideals and sentiments espoused in the Constitution of the united States. Soldiers bear true faith and allegiance to the document and they work, and live, within the Codes Of Military Justice. Soldiers. Soldiers also obey the orders of the President and the officers over them. These truths are self evident in the everyday lives of soldiers.
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the united States against all enemies, foreign and domestic... streaming form the eyes of the returning soldiers. That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the order of the officers over me... sounding from the stumbling gait of the disabled veteran. According to regulations and the Uniform Cod of Military Justice. So help me God..blasting form the cold stone face of a grave marker.
Remember those they gave their live, so that we may continue to live the little freedom as spelled out in the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence.. Lest we forget.
The Marine Corps Version of Genesis 1
"In the beginning was the word, and the word was God."
In the beginning was God, and all else was darkness and void, and without form. So God created the heavens and the earth. He created the sun, and the moon, and the stars, so that light might pierce the darkness. The Earth, God divided between the land and the sea, and theses he filled with many assorted creatures. And the dark, salty, slimy creatures that inhabited the murky depths of the oceans, God called sailors. And he dressed them accordingly. They had little trousers that looked like bells at the bottom. And their shirts had cute little flaps on them to hide the hickeys on their neck. He also gave them long sideburns and shabby looking beards. God nicknamed them "squids" and banished them to a lifetime at sea, so that normal folks would not be associate. To further identify with these unloved creatures, He called them "petty" and "commodore" instead of titles of red-blooded men.
And the flaky creatures of the land, God called soldiers. And with a twinkle in His eye, and a sense of humor that only He could have, God made their trousers too short and their covers too large. He also made their pockets oversized, so they could warm their hands. And to adorn their uniforms. God gave them badges in quantities that only a dime store owner could appreciate. And He gave them emblems and crests..and all sorts of shiny things that glittered... and devices that dangled. (When you are God, you get carry away)
On the 6th day, he though about creating some sir creatures for which He designed a Greyhound bus driver;s uniform, especially for Air Force flybys. But He discarded the idea during the week, and it was until years later that some Apostle resurrected this theme and established what we now know as the "Wild-Blue-Yonder Wonders."
And on the 7th day, as you know God rested. But on the 8th day, God looked down upon the earth and was not happy. No! God was not happy! So he though about His labors, and in His divine wisdom God create a divine creature. And this He called a Marine. And those Marines, who God created in His own image, were to be of the air, and of the land and of the sea. And these He gave wonderful uniforms. Some were green some were blue with red trim. And in those early days, some were even a beautiful tan. He gave them practical fighting uniform, so they could wage war against the forces of Satan and evil. He gave them uniforms for their daily work and training. And He gave them evening and dress uniforms...so sharp and stylish, handsome things.. sot hey might promenade with the ladies on Saturday night and and impress the evil out of everybody! He even gave them a sword, so that people who were not impressed could be dealt with accordingly, And at the end of the 8th day, God looked down upon the earth and saw that it was good. But God was happy now! No God was still not happy. Because in the course of His labor. He had forgotten one thing. He did not have a Marine uniform for Himself. He though about it, and finally God satisfied Himself in knowing that, well...not everybody can be a Marine. Anyway He was the Chief Commander with more that 5 stars anyway
