Does God Consider Me A Worm?
Ever get a song on your mind? Sure it happens to everyone. It can almost drive you crazy..like a silly commercial jingle. Some make them that way-so they will stick like cockleburs to a dog ear. Sometime, how ever, the melody on the brain is a welcome one. Like a solid old Hymn that keeps us company during a lonely afternoon
It happened to me today. Issac Watts struck again. One of his best (he wrote over 600!) lingered in the back of mind for more than an hour before I could formed the words with my mouth. Suddenly, I found myself singing "Alas ! and did my Savior bleed? And did my Sovereign die? Would He devote that sacred head For such a worm as I?
Then I frowned as the last line faded away. "A worm"? Does God see people as "worms"? When Christ died did He "devote that sacred head" for worms? Now, obviously , Watts wanted to portray a vivid illustration of sinful mankind-lost, undeserving, spiritually worthless, wicked within. Dipping his pen in Job 25 and Isaiah 41, The old hymnist painted such a picture using the very term scripture uses-worm. He was biblical and therefore justified in his choice of the word "worm.". Frankly we were worm like when God found us-lowly, wandering, dirty, unattractive, grubby creatures
Now that does not mean we work hard at making ourselves into worms no. A child is not a worm. If God had wanted us to be a worm, he could have easily made us one! He's very good at worms, you know. There's an infinite variety of the wriggling creatures. When Watts wrote of worms, he was merely using a word picture. May others, however have farmed it as a model to follow, calling it humility. This "worm" term creates enormous problems.
It wears many faces-all sad. It crawl out form under the mattress and the springs in the morning, telling itself, "I nothing, I'm a worm. Woe, woe. I can't do anything and even if I appear to be doing something, it's really not me. Woe! I must annihilate self-respect...crucify all motivation and ambition. If any good accidentally leaks out, I must quickly hide it or categorically deny I had nothing to do with it. How could I accomplish anything of value? I mean, who am I? I'm a worm. Good for nothing except crawling very slowly, drowning in mud puddles, or getting stepped on, Woe, woe, woe.
There is one problem with this sort of thinking-it's phony. No matter how diligently we labor to appear genuinely humble, it amounts to nothing more than trying to look good in another way. Self-made worms carry around little signs you have to squint to read, "I bet I am twice a humble as you!"
And therein lies the ugly sin"PRIDE.
Heretical thought it may sound, no more who actually hates himself can adequately share the love of Christ. Jesus taught that we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Think that over. If we don't properly love ourselves, where does that leave our neighbors? I have yet to witness and effective, happy, fulfilled Christian whose image of himself was poor...who really believed he was a worm
Have you taken time this week to consider before Jesus and His Word who you really are? It's possible to imagine that one who is adopted into God's family, accepted in the beloved, a recipient of the riches of Christ, called to be ambassador, and the object of infinite grace, mercy, love, and peace, ought to slither around like a nightcrawler. If you ask me that is heresy! Sinful? Oh yes, Undeserving? Absolutely? Imperfect?Who isn't? Selfish? Indeed! Wrong"?More often than not.
But a worm? Useless? Unimportant? Spineless? Meaningless? No, not that. God declared us righteous. he lifted us up out of the miry clay and set us upon a rock. He invites us to approach Hi with boldness, and He mean it.
The True Church! 30 Nov 2017
The Church is as real today as it was when Jesus walked up Mt. Hattin, called unto Him who He would, and there organized the Church. Even though the Church originated many years ago, it is not out of step with our day. The Church is relevant to our day; it is not out of date. Some complain that it moves to slowly and is behind the times; but a close survey would show that, rather than having to wait on the Church to catch up, we will have to work with all our might to keep abreast with the progress of the Church as it speeds it work in anticipation of the Lord's return.
Truth is ageless! What was true a thousand years ago is true today. Ages or time does not affect the truth, since the church is the pillar and ground of the truth, it too is ageless and not affected by time or the times, regardless of their complexities. The Church is relevant and meaningful to these modern times.
The Church because , it is in this world's Christendom where conformity and compromise are the order today. The True Church stands untiringly and unswervingly for Bible holiness.
We cannot afford to push for compromise and conformity that would ultimately destroy the divine institution that Jesus Christ has established in the world. The church because it is an organization and order in a world of chaos and confusion. While other religious movements run about with no apparent order or sense of direction, running helter-skelter. substituting natural efforts for supernatural power of God, The Church of God has direction and under Theocratic government (God rules) and its goal is to present Jesus Christ to the world and we are striving with dedication and determination toward that goal.
The Church is not a social institution, it is a divine institution of Jesus Christ given for the evangelism of the world and bringing together into one fold to all children of God which is scattered abroad. The True Church is not like any other Church. There is a difference and we must learn to be proud of the difference.!
Noah spend 120 years laboring to build the Ark, and that for the salvation of only eight souls. The ark was not limited to eight, but it was limited to righteous people, and there was only eight that qualified. Neither is the Church designated to be small, but is designed to accommodate only the righteous, and sometimes he keep the numbers down.
God made it clear in His Word we are not to lower the Church and its standards to gain one single member. If they are willing to come, they can be part of the Bride, but we can't take it to that land. We have no permission from God to sacrifice quality to obtain quantity. It is time we quit apologizing for the doctrine of the Church! We don't need to apologize for which God is responsible
It would be worth it when we see the church gloriously raptured away to the marriage supper of the Lamb, and know that we are doing our part without apology, without criticism, without shame, without reservation, have contributed to its ultimate victory.
The Animal Brain Duster. 22 Nov 2017
Jesus made reference to Herod as a fox when Herod thought he could outsmart him. When he made reference to his own purpose and plan, He said to the Pharisees: "Go and tell that old fox,"(Luke 13;32). Thus, one reason for the following "The Animal Brain Duster."
Though I have been referred to as the black sheep of the family, I have never been called a snake in the grass. Most men are said to be as stubborn as a mule, and I am one of them. I have been to let the cat out of the bag, especially when someone tries to rat on me. A few times in my life, I have been accused of getting the cart before the horse. I admit, I have gone on a wild goose chase once in a while. I have never made it a habit, because I usually thought something was fishy
To my knowledge, I have never been hen-pecked, though a few times I have though I might have been a guinea pig.
Ask my friends: I have never tried to weasel out of anything, and to mu knowledge, I have never tried to take the lion's share. To tell the truth, I am dog tried and its raining cats and dogs though I am not a weather prophet, but I have put eagle eyes on something, and I don't run around like a bull in a china closet. I have ate high off the hog, but never opened a can of worms.
I never wasted my time on shedding crocodile tears because they are fake. Another good reason, I never could hit the bull's eye
All this animal talks may sound a little squirrely, and if I make my next appointment, I must measure my distance as the crow flies. You see as a minster of the gospel, it has been rumored that I have referred to as been to an old goat, not to mention the fact that I will be a little slow, because I am slightly pigeon toed. You can plainly see, if I don't go now I might have to eat the crow
The Power of Thanksgiving 15 Nov 2017
The word 'thanksgiving" can be defined as the expression of gratitude, especially to almighty God. One of the great commandments is to give thanks to God, for all He has done for us. According to Psalm 100:4 we are to "enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name". Christ, himself was the perfect example of obeying this commandment.
It is also giving thanks to God for the many blessings which should not be limited to only good times but also bad times thereby giving us the opportunity to demonstrate our faith in God. Thanksgiving will draw our hearts out to God and keep us engaged with him and it will take your attention from ourselves and give the Holy Ghost room in our hearts.
Among many benefits of thanksgiving are: Give thanks to God for unlocked doors-Whenever thanksgiving goes up shower of blessings automatically comes down (Psa 100:5)-It strengthens faith, strengthens our dependence on God for every provision and upholds the biblical truths on the faithfulness of God-It keeps our lives clear of darkness, anxiety, sin and deception. (Rom. 1;21, Phil4-6)- It draws us closer to God-
We can show thanksgiving to Go: by remembering him in out thoughts, words and deeds. It is impossible to give gratitude to God if never think or speak to him. We can also memorize the scriptures to remember his promises and show gratitude- By identifying his lordship over our lives.Counting our blessings and realize that we are who and what we are because of God . 1 Thess 5:18, Reflecting on all God has done for us in all rears of our lives, spiritually, physically, especially the sacrificing of his son Jesus which is the greatest gift of all- by giving thanks. We should thank God as often as we pray that we should have his spirit in us to teach us to pray. We should bear it in mind that the prayer that begins with trustfulness and passes on into waiting, will always end in thankfulness, triumph and praise. We show our dependence on God through prayerful thanksgiving which should be done daily-By praise, we should praise and thank God through songs with use of musical instruments, clapping of hands. Eph 5:19, Psa 69-30, Jer 30:19- By repentance, always being conscious of our wrongdoings and confessing our sins is a way of showing gratitude to God. Gratitude is also the foundation upon which repentance is built because is shows we acknowledge the mercy of God, Repentance cleanses of our sins and brings about additional blessings if done with a sincere heart and willingness to desist from such sins. By expressing gratitude to others, showing gratitude to people and helping others in a way of showing gratitude to God. This is seen in Matt. 25:40 which say s "Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done unto me" This is thanksgiving to God By serving others. On this Thanksgiving , Communicate with God through worship, prayer, faith, holiness, giving and sacrifice.
My Tribute to Our Veterans
Veterans Day is Nov 11 and this my tribute to these Veterans.
With love and heartfelt appreciation, I dedicated this writing to the 27 million Americans who so proudly wore the uniform of this country. May our nation once again be blessed by your sacrifice and service.
Everybody knows a veteran. Take a look around you family circle, or co0workers or you friends at church, and you will undoubtly find someone who served in the Armed Forces, In millions of homes across this great land of ours, there are faded brown photo of family members in uniform, military medals, awards and stacks of letters send from military bases and battlefields from around the world, And it is easy to hear conversation about the misery and places that the veterans endured for our freedom.
Everyone has heard a t least one veteran's story as they are passed down from generation to generation. Grandfathers, Father, Mothers aunts, etc accounts of nurses who nuresd the wounded and still remember the ones she couldn't help. Tales of cousins and uncles who w3re drafted, or enlisted and spend 13 months or more in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world.
It is hard to write about our the misery and suffering associated with war, because I was one of them. The filth in Korea, the hate of us in Viet Nam and the killings in Iraq and Afghanistan, yet sometimes it brings about the best in us. I know first hand of of my friends who lost their life ib the two wars i served in. Korea and Viet Nam, who gave thir life friendly for the freedom you and i have today
The NFL has made a mockery of these brave heroes. Hollywood and Congress, talk show host, and comedians and other degrading our president, instead of trying to help. And anyone who watches, attends these games, or TV host who disrespects our flag, is saying their care less of those sacrifices that were made by our military. War brings out a bod of love and reverence that veterans hold for each other and that cannot be matched, except the love of God. Look at Gettysburg, Iwo Jima,Anizo, Guadalcanal, Chosun, Hamburger Hill, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan, these are woven into our hearts and into the fabric of our society, because we know that these signs is the freedom we have today. How close is war with North Korea or any other country, I don' know, but I do know God is angry with the way that the American people are doing and soon, we will feel the effect of it.
Halloween-Trick or Treat?
Our world is sinking ever deeper into satanic paganism. The fascination with the occult is rising. Behind close closets the satanic heightens. Halloween isn't an evening of fun for the kiddies. These children are celebrating cruelty and practicing occult activities unawares.
The 31 of October is the Witches Sabbath. The eve of the feast of the Day of Death (1st November-beginning with winter). Rituals, human and animals sacrifices were carried out. And is still carried out to this day. Don't let anyone fool you otherwise.
Don't think it is just pagan fun. The Witches Sabbath, as it is called, is to pay homage to Satan. That's exactly what the young children are doing, running around the dark streets in the most grotesque masks, paying homage. (Isa. 29:15) Halloween is the kindergarten of the occult.
Christians know full well that God warns us of this evil. Look at a handful of scripture, (Duet 18:10-12, 1 Tim 4:1, Ezek 44:23, 1 Thess. 5:22) I could quote many more. The devil does not play games. He plays to keep. There are satanists throughout the world, who continue with human and animal sacrifices on Halloween. Pets, Horses, mutilated, killed. Ever seen an animal mutilated for a ritual? I have. Horses are common, as they're sacred to the sun god, it's sickening sight.
We knew a woman who was involved in witchcraft and the occult, a spiritualist. She died a demonic death, with "women in black," advancing menacingly toward her. And a demonic presence around her death bed. These were the words. not mine. She was petrified.
A couple years back in October a woman e-mail and told me this story of a woman on Halloween. he children, aged between 9-16 were int he room and they shocked me and their mother saying that some of her friends parents were "goths" and into occult practices. They said the the kids parents would cut themselves and drunk their own blood. One child said that these parents would met up with others "goths" in the woods and that they killed a baby lamb as a sacrifice. The children were actually warning their mother about the danger of the the occult! I'll never forget that woman's face, absolute shock and horror that this sort of thing went on. She said that she was able to witness to the family. These evil practices have been going on with modern druids, witches and satanists. The 31 of October is a sacred day of witchcraft/occultism. It is a special day to called on evil spirits.
Another true story is from a Christian brother. who told me first hand, that he'd been involved with police, pastors, social workers in trying to rebuild the lives of young parents who had been satanists and had sacrificed their newly born babies. These parents, especially these very young mothers' freak" out at this time of the year. they are totally and permanently traumatized.
On the 31 Oct, maybe would should be giving out tracts and witnessing, to as many children as possible scriptural books, Bible stories stories. Some of the children are very young. A friend said that after he witnessed to them and saying this was an abomination to God. Some children walked away and said, I didn't know."
Tragically The Church of England has condoned Halloween. Mainstream church say there is no danger with kids celebrating Halloween . Archbishop of Canterbury in England stood in a tomb, talking to the dead. No wonder Christians are confused.
I pray you will read this with all seriousness and act. What i have writing is first hand knowledge. Halloween is big business, it's here to stay. But you can do something about it. You can reach out to a child or two, or three or maybe more. The Lord will bless you for reaching out. "Train up a child and the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Prov.22:7
My Dad can whip your Dad! (Oct 9 2017)
Nearly everyone is convict that their dad is a Superman and their mom is like a movies star. Part of growing up is coming to realize that's one mother's may not be the most beautiful and their father not be a superman, there is a little bit of child in us. My dad was in his 80' when he died, and I still think he was of the best preacher I ever heard. And my mom could not be beat when it came to making banana pudding.
There a great many people who I admire in this world, but my Mom and Dad were my heroes, and will always be. They didn't always please me, but God told me to honor them, and gave me the sense to do it. Their lives has earned the right for that respect. They saw a lots of ups and downs, and Isaw their bouts with disappointments and sickness, nevertheless they kept their faith in God, staying strong.
God didn't make parents perfect, He commanded them to set an example. That examples doesn't always come without error. However there is no excuse for hypocritical inconsistencies that can be avoided by honesty and commitment to Christ. The message is simple to parents. Most of the time your children will follow your example. Just give them a example to look up to. Incidents of adult hypocrisy would be endless, but there is one area that is brought up whenever music is concerned. The parents will knock Rap, and Hip-Hop, and forbid their children from listening to it,, yet the teenager will point to their parents that so many in the Bible-belt, middle age Christian's turn to Country and Western music ans ays what is the difference?
Most adults would be shocked if they would only listen to the lyrics of this kind of music. Let the preacher knock Hip-hop and Rap, and the parents will shout "Amen!" Then after the service, they get in their car, tune to "Country and Western and and listen to truck-drivers who run around on their wives. Got to a bar (honky tonky) to drown their sorrow on beer and whiskey. The frankness and titlitating explicities of country music is embarrassing The promiscuous escapades of Rap and Hip=Hop may horrify mom's and dad's, but they will turn to song's like " I love that women, like the devil loves sin." Heaven is just a sin away. and then go to church and tell people how awful Rap and Hip -Hop are
What a puzzle to a teenagers is the veneer religious hypocrisy that glosses over the music scene. Some artist will sing the praise of drink, or cheating and then the next song they sing, "Is the Old Rugged Cross," or How great thou Are!'
Who remembers a gospel quartet a few year back had one of the biggest hit in the Country and Western field. In it the lead singer talks about sexual conquest of a woman of his dreams. Their follow up with Y'all Come Back Saloon.". The the follow Christmas special they had on T.V. and sung song like "Away in A Manger.". TBN also a few years back had le Ann Rimes and Britney Spears, and other stars telling how close they were to Jesus and how wonderful He was. Carman had a program also on TBN where the girls were in skimpy shorts danced like a flower in the wind, showing almost nudity. Is it any wonder I children want us to clean out our closets before stepping on our toes.
If I stopped now, enough had been said to convince the anti-rapper and Hi=Hoppers, and Pro Country and Western fans of their double standard. But sex is not the only thing in Country and Western music. Topic two is alcohol, songs like "I Love this bar, "Two More Bottles of Wine." Another on "Take This Job and shove It and Christian people would go around singing it.
Enough is said. It is easier to step on our kids toes. than it is mom's and dad's.
Unconditional Love (4 Oct 2017)
A soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in the Iraq War. He called his parents from San Francisco. "Mom, Dad, I'm coming home, but I've favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me. 'Sure" They replied, "We'd love to met him
There is something you should know the son continued, he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mine and lost an arm and a leg. He has no where else to go, and I want."t him to come and live with us
I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find a place to live." "No, Mom and dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son, said the dad, "you don't know what you are asking. Someone with handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like that interfere with our live. I think you should come home and forget about his guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."
The phone went dead. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died falling from a building, they were told. The police believed that it was suicide
The grief stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. The recognize him, but to heir horror they also discovered something they did not know, their son was missing one arm and a leg.
The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who physical fit and are fun to be around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't healthy, beautiful or as smart as we are.
Thank gully, there is someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who love us with and unconditional love that welcomes us in the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are
Soldier Or An Angel (Sept 23 2017)
In 1949 , my friends dad had just returned home form War World War 2. On ever America highway you could see soldiers hitchhiking home to their families, as was the custom at that time in America. Sadly, the thrill of reunion which with his family was soon overshadow
His grandmother became very ill and had to be taking to the hospital. It was her kidneys, and the doctors told his father that she need needed a blood transfusion immediately or she would not live through the night.
The problems was that his grandmother's blood was type AB-, a very rare blood type even today, but even harder to get then because there were no blood banks, or air flights to ship blood. All the family members were tested but none had AB-. So the doctors gave the family no hope, my grandmother was dying.
His father left the hospital in tears to gather up all the family members, so that everyone would get a chance to tell her goodbye,
As his father was driving down the highway, he passed a soldier in uniform hitchhiking home to his family. Deep in grief his father had no inclination at that moment to do a good deed. Yet it was as if something outside himself pulled to a stop, and he waited as the stranger climbed into the car. His dad was too upset to even ask the soldier his name, but the soldier noticed his father's tears right away and ask him what was wrong.
Through his tears his dad told the stranger that his mother was dying because the doctors had been unable to locate her blood type AB-, and if they did not locate her blood type before nightfall, she would die.
It got very quite in the car. Then the unidentified soldier extended his hand out to his father, palm up. Resting in his hand were the dog tags from around his neck. The blood type as AB-. The soldier told his father to turn the car around and get him to the hospital
His grandmother lived until 1996., 47 years, later and to this day no one in our family knows the soldiers name. But his father has often wondered, was he a soldier or an angel in uniform? Sometimes we never know who God will bring into our live to carry out a special mission nor do we know whose lives God will have us touch.
I Hate Snakes (20 Sept 2017)
I hate snakes. I have never steeped on a snake, but have come close a couple of times. I have stepped by snakes, around snakes, and over a snake, I even had one fall out of a tree on me, picking blackberries. But i ain't never stepped on a snake. I have heard they did not take kindly to be stomped on. I visited a Church my brother was the Pastor, and let me tell you they have rattlesnakes all over the place. Before service a man took me to look at a dead rattlesnake in the back of his truck. That thing must have 15 feet long and 15 0r 20 rattlers. He had just knocked in the head coming to church. We looked the snake over real close. When we got out of church that night, the dead snake was still alive and was on top of the tool box in the back of the truck. The guy knocked in the head again a mite harder. I I have even thought that critter was still alive, when looking at it earlier. I wouldn't have got 15 feet of it
Would you rather err on the side of righteousness or unrighteousness? Would you rather get close to a snake or remain at a distance? Christians liberty say, I can do it, I have right, it's allowed",but Christian maturity says, " For me to live is Christ and I love God and want to protect my testimony." It has always amazed me at the length to which people will get to get near sin, but won't pay the price to get near God. If you more interested in getting closer to sin than getting closer to God, something is wrong. Getting near a snake don't mean you will be bitten, but increases you chances.
It brother me when some Christians spend more time looking for loopholes than allow them freedom to indulge in, or take part in that which is questionable for Christians. It just tells me they are more focused on themselves than on God. Plus there is potential danger, for sin can bite like a snake.
I once went to church in California and I was amazed and grieved. Several women were half naked and men in shorts. It was hard for me to believe anyone could focus on righteousness with so much skin showing. You are saying here he goes harping on dress, when there are more important things things' There are certainly more import things, but dress and appearance also has a place of importance. Loophole seekers are always turning to more important things. And even I do harp on certain things, is usually because most minsters have lost their harp, and they are silent on certain issues. There is direct connection between nakedness and inflamed lust. There is also a direct connection between going hunting or to a lake to find a snake. God where snakes live increase the chance of finding even stepping on a snake. Staying away from the pond decreases the possibly of seeing or stepping on snakes.
Hungering and thirsting after God with a desire to please Him decreases opportunities to sin and dishonor God. Why are Christians so concerned with the world, it's style and fashions, programs and all it has to offer when they could feast on the things of God and the genuine peace, joy and fulfillment that comes only from dedication to Him? Legalist ? Legalism? The word has to do with adhering to the law. I'll take the law any day over lawlessness. And watch out for snake!!
Isn't it about time we got hungry? Sept 9 2017
Hungry is define as, the discomfort, pain, or weakness cause by the need of food. What really cause the prodigal to return home? Was it a mother's prayer? Dads concerned and watchfulness?! No! Hunger was the motivating that first turned his thoughts, then his body, toward home. Not discarding Mother;s prayers not dad's concern, but oh-imagine those deep, gnawing hunger pains that filled his being! It was so severe that he gladly filled his belly with the husks that he fed to the swines. Brother that's hungry.
We live in a prodigal world not unlike the younger son depicted in this story,. However, he came to himself, Oh, if the world ever needed to come to itself, it is this one. It is so lost! So many are going to hell. Is there hope today? Yes, there is hope. Soul-hunger will drive men to God, Oh, the pain and agony cause by Satan. "Sin is the blame for all sorrow." Have you hope for souls for tomorrow? Sin is the blame for it all/ It is too expensive a commodity for me. I can't afford it it. Can you?
When a person gets hungry enough they will search for food. Let them get hungry enough for God and they will start searching for Him. God promise is "And ye shall seek me, and fine me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.' (Jer 29:13) In fact God says, "And it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" (Isa 65:24
Raw needs brought the prodigal son to his senses. "I've got to have something to eat. I'm starving and at my father's house the servants are more they need. This is foolish, I've got to stop this. I've got to change. I'm going home. I'm broke and down and out. I want ask to be a overseer, or even a band leader; just one of the servants. I'll work, I'll do anything, I've got to have some help. I've got o have something to eat. Wonder, if my folks will take me back? Will they know me? I'm no good, but I'm going to try. And when he got home did his Dad shun him? No! a thousand times no! Oh, how different form his leaving. Church, sin will makes shambles out of your life. You can,'t trust the devil
Mother meet him at the door and give him orders."Shave your bread, cut your hair, take a bath, sorry son there is no bread for you, not even a crumb is that what she said? No! Come on in son, the pot is empty but just sit there and it will soon be filled. Pans move around, spices are on the move, the aroma a of good food fills the house!Ah, sweet fragrance! Sweet forgiveness. What was this for!? Because their son had come home. He's safe at last. It has been a stormy night of anxiety, but now that had come to end. It is their son in person-not another, but their own son.
But wait! the older brother didn't get into the "spirit of rescue". He had no time for pity. He made his own bed and let him sleep in it, it's good enough for him, I 'm not going to talk to him. Your son, dad has wasted all his money on evil things. "Take my name off the Church books, if you are going to let them back in. He's rotten to the core. I can't stand him. I can't fellowship with him. I can't be a member of this church with them in it.. Let them suffer! We don't need them
Oh, the poor brother should have rejoice for his prodigal brother who had returned home. But instead it was Thou never gavest me, thou never killed the fatted calf for me. I'm hurt over this. My feeling s are hurt, You can count on this, I will never talk to him again
But wait! The father says, "Son all I have is thine! Come on in: there are good things inside. Shake hands and hug your brother(you can wash your hands later if you did int in pretense) Church, this generation is lost-lost-lost! I want it saved not shaved how about you?
They go to the homecoming hand in hand. The meal is delicious-the fatted calf. The best table ware is used. Both brothers ate the food. Oh! you should have been there when I prayed through! We must see beyond the tatoo's, the drug addictions, the drunks, homosexuality, etc of this generation. It's a hungry generation. It will not be lost through those evil listed above, but we will be lost in the hearts and minds of Christians, if we write them off,, we will be no better than they are. You will prove that you are holier than thous and lower yourself to the Priest and Levite as they did in the story of the Good Samaritan
What is you altitude about sinners who return to the fold? Are you willing to give them a chance? A piece of the Bread of ( life) Are you will to share Christ with every sinned you met? Never write them off.

Spiritual Ketchup (4 Sept 2017)
When my kids were small, they love candy, but they hated to eat good old healthy food. They actually would not hardly swallow it, I thought that they were goi9ng to shrivel up and die. Rally, they didn't eat and the began to look like kids we had adopted form third-world countries.
We prayed and God answered and all I can say "is praise God for ketchup!". It was the only thing with the power that could opened the jaws of my kids tightly closed clinched lips. They love the stuff. I could get them to eat anything as long as it was covered with that awesome red looking sauce. Then they started to eat all kinds of food and became stronger and healthy.
Sometime it hard to swallow the word of God. It has so much variety to offer, but a lots of people only nibble on a few of the sweet promises and refuse to have a balanced, healthy diet. This results is loss of strength and emotional instability, which is really spiritual malnourishment
I have myself been in that pitiful, powerless position of not being able to take the meaty stuff of the Word of God. I was shriveling up spiritually and taking an unbalanced diet until I discovered what I call "Spiritual ketchup." This ketchup is really a series of question you can guide your Bible reading and help you to swallow and digest the Word of God.
I have listed these questions here for you to use. Go ahead. Try it. I'm sure you'll like it. Bon appetit.
1. Is there insight? Watch for scriptures that can help you to know God better,or things about Him and what His character is?
2. Is there principal for living? Principles are truths that provide power for living. The bible contains a lot of them.
3. Is there a command? God's word is filled with commands, things He has told us to do, Find out what they are and obey them. Remember God blessings us according to our obedience
4. Is there prohibition? God also has listed things we should not do. These are referred to as "prohibition." Underline and adhere to the "do nots" in Scripture.Recall again that God's blessing are a product of obedience.
5. Is there a promise? Somethings that God has said, He will do in our lives. I have found that marking these in the Word and depositing them in the bank of my heart provides me with great spiritual wealth. Claim the promises; they are ours for the taking if our motives are to live for the Lord's glory.
6. Is there a special word? At times you may be going through something in your life, and a verse of Scripture or phrase will jump right out at you. I call this special words words. It is like you are online with heaven when you are reading, and then you here "You've got e-mail!' God emails your heart. Write thees things down, inhale them in you spiritual lungs, and be refreshed: God has not forgotten you, and He is in control.
